Hatcher Pass

Rolled out of Talkeetna and met up with Dennis, Carol, Ed, Sandy, Butch and Kathy about 40 miles down the road. They found a nice little RV park right on the hatcher Pass road. They invited me along on a jeep trip across the pass. The GPS knows the way… Seven of us set out on a three hour tour… Can you hear the music? Gilligan?

The road starts out paved, then after a few miles, turns to gravel. A picturesque bridge along the way.

You first, Carol! I don’t know if she’s panning for gold, chasing fish or just foolin around…

No matter how far into the boonies you go, you still find road construction!

We discover this old bus, almost hidden in the weeds. I could live here! Well, maybe not, but it would make a great man cave, with a little fixin up…

A couple scenery shots along the way. We find an interesting jeep/ATV trail and follow it back into the hills.

Along the way, we see several beaver ponds, and at the end of the trail, there is an abandoned mine. Very photogenic! Below are assorted scenes from the trip. We finally make it over the top and roll down into Palmer for a bite to eat, and a short pavement ride home. Fun Day!
